There are some hire tools that you can hire for use in or around your own home, however, it is more important that you take safety very seriously because of the fact its in your own home. This is because you don't want to have something go wrong and you hurt a member of your family, your self or damage your home. Some of the tools you can hire for home use, their uses and what precautions need to be taken:
Scissor lift - This is ideal for if you have roof work or just general maintenance on your house at heights, they are also used a lot by people that have an industrial building that is a very high building that needs paint work doing or has repairs needed at height. It is possible to rent these from most tool hire shops but care needs to be taken in the way that some of these can reach heights of around 11 metres which obviously if you were to fall off you would be seriously hurt. For the higher lifts you can get harnesses to fasten you to the lift so you don't fall if you step out side the lift platform.- Industrial floor finishers - These are normally used by people who have extremely large wooden floors, and even community halls. You can get sanders that now have suction also so to leave no dust behind once the surface is sanded. However, if you have any breathing problems such as asthma then it advised that you wear a dust mask, and just for extra safety you should wear goggles as well. Some of these machines will also require to be fitted to a mains supply rather than any kind of extension because of the power.
Welding kits - These kits can be extremely dangerous if the right care is not taken make sure you know exactly what you are doing with the equipment before attempting to use it. The safety equipment that should be worn when using a welding kit consists of a welding mask, heavy duty welding gloves, and tough overall clothing; this prevents you from getting burned if sparks fly off the piece you are welding.- Ground rollers - You may use a ground roller to flatten land before building a shed or a granny flat. Of course an essential piece of safety equipment you should wear is steel toe cap boots.
